Two arrested Sunday on drug trafficking charges

DUNCAN — More than 55 grams of crack cocaine and powder cocaine are off the streets, along with two alleged drug traffickers, after a combined effort between three law enforcement agencies Sunday in which the arrests were made.

Michael Anthony Todd appeared Monday in Stephens County District Court to face felony charges of drug trafficking.

He was issued a $100,000 bond, with District Judge Joe Enos making note that Todd was out on a $10,000 bond for an additional charge of possession of cocaine.

Todd was arrested Sunday in a joint effort between Stephens and Jefferson County law enforcement agencies — Duncan Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Task Force and placed into the Stephens County Jail.

Todd allegedly sold more than 5 grams of crack cocaine and a powder cocaine to a confidential informant working for the DPD and DA’s office.

According to a press release issued by District Attorney Bret Burns office, Todd has three or four prior felony convictions from both Oklahoma and Texas.

Burns’ release noted that the officers used information from Todd’s arrest to conduct another investigation that afternoon in Waurika. The same three law enforcement agencies then arrested Willie Foster, also for trafficking in crack cocaine, when he allegedly sold more than 50 grams of crack cocaine to a person at a Waurika truck stop. Foster also has felony convictions in the state of Texas. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail.

“The cooperation between the law enforcement agencies was outstanding,” Burns said. “By working together, we were able to catch some very large suppliers of illegal drugs and shut down their operations.”
