DUNCAN — Renovating the Stephens County Fair and Expo Center’s concession was looked at Monday at the regular meeting of the Stephens County Board of Commissioners.
Dillon Construction representatives Ken Shaw and John Dillon were in attendance to share their plans and thoughts for renovations. Shaw proposed a free standing ticket booth to be constructed outside the facility to allow the concession area to take over the space vacated by the current ticket booth.
“One advantage is that the ticket booth would be moveable by forklift,” Shaw said. “It would be made with sheet metal and steel, with three windows and a door.”
The Board requested that Dillon Construction draw up plans so the County could send out bids to complete the project.
In other action:
n The Board approve a resolution and claim submitted to ODOT for reimbursement of $62,258.41 for a Force Account Bridge Project in District 1.
n The Board approved certification and affidavits for project CIRB-169C(152)RB, job piece 25482(06).
n The Board accepted the only bid for chemicals and herbicides for Districts 1 and 2. Commissioner of District 3, Dee Bowen said, “We spray our bridges and around our signs every year to eliminate the growth of weeds.” The bid was awarded to Comanche Seed and Grain.
