DUNCAN —
A man was injured and sent to the hospital early Monday morning when he was attacked during a robbery attempt at Love’s store on West Main at Second Street.
Detectives are waiting to view an enhanced video of the suspect who has not been caught yet.
Ford said it took place about 1:59 a.m. Monday, when a person entered the store and used a large fire extinguisher against the store clerk. “They hit the clerk on the head, then forced the clerk to give them the contents of the cash box,” Ford said.
“The victim never lost consciousness. They were transported to Duncan Regional Hospital emergency room, then to the OU Medical Center,” Ford said. The victim was home Tuesday and recovering.
Details available were sketchy as the victim happened to be filling in for the regular clerk who had gotten sick while at work and about two hours earlier, the police had completed a welfare check on that first clerk.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hoodie, blue shorts and blue bandanna.
This robbery comes after there have been multiple accounts in the police call logs about suspicious people in the area.
