Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said two individuals are being sought in an alleged assault that took place on a Comanche woman about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Ray Carroll Martin, and his female companion, Crista Gibson, are believed to have possibly fled the county and maybe even the state, McKinney said. There is a warrant for their arrest, which was issued through the Stephens County District Attorney’s office late Friday.
“I consider these two armed and extremely dangerous. They may have left the county or state, to Texas,” he said.
“We believe he does have ties to the Aryan Nation and they both have a long criminal history,” McKinney said. They could also be headed to Northwest Arkansas.
They were last seen driving a gray Dodge Ram quad cab pickup, but a license plate number was not available.
“He’s also known to ride Harley’s. He’s had gun charges, weapons, trafficking controlled dangerous substances and a few other drug charges. She has been in trouble before for assault and battery on a police officer,” the sheriff said.
McKinney said that the incident began when, according to the victim, Gibson knocked on a woman’s front door, prompting the victim to open it only to discover Gibson armed with a taser and a knife. McKinney said Gibson forced her way into the home and the two women struggled, with the victim managing to disarm Gibson. The sheriff said at that point, Martin had gained entry through the victim’s back door of her home and put a pistol to her head and told her to drop the weapons.
He allegedly wanted $140 that the victim owed him for a water pump. McKinney said Martin held the victim at gunpoint for more than three hours, making her beg for her life, while Gibson went through the house to take a TV, purse and other items.
“They also stole her phone and he threatened to kill her,” McKinney said. Also during the incident, the victim was tased twice more, he noted.
“Martin told her he had nothing to lose because he was looking at serious (jail) time over a drug arrest,” McKinney said.
Martin was arrested in early June by a Duncan Police Officer on drug trafficking charges after 74 grams of methamphetamine was discovered, to which he claimed was his. There was a female in the car, but was not identified at that time. He was booked into the Stephens County Jail and released with a $20,000 bond.
Gibson pleaded guilty to to an April 15 assault on a SCSO deputy, and was charged in district court with that as a misdemeanor crime. She served 10 days in the county jail.
