DUNCAN —
A child was listed in critical condition following an incident involving a vehicle, Duncan Police Detective William Fitzhugh said Friday.
The Duncan Police Department received a call at 6:26 p.m. Thursday about an accident involving a child at the Forest Hills Addition and Second Street.
“A car was traveling westbound toward Forest Hills,” Fitzhugh said. “There were some children heading eastbound, walking toward oncoming traffic. And there was a little boy on a bike.”
Fitzhugh said some details cannot be released because the child is a minor and because the incident is still under investigation. Fitzhugh and Sgt. Steve Biffle are overseeing the investigation.
“The investigation is to determine who’s at fault,” Fitzhugh said.
He has already interviewed the driver. Because the accident did involve an injury, the toxicology of the driver was taken and sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
“It could take a couple of weeks,” Fitzhugh said about the test results.
