VELMA — VELMA — The Atlas Pipeline Velma Business Unit received the Atlas Pipeline 2008 Presidential Safety Award March 12 for having the best safety record in the Atlas Pipeline Company five major business units.
The Velma Business Unit consists of 34 employees who take care of a major gas processing plant, compressor stations, and gas gathering lines from northwest of Marlow, across south-central and southeastern Oklahoma down to the north Texas area.
James Branscum, Velma area manager received the award at the March 12 luncheon for the employees.
Presenting the award were Clint Duty, vice president Velma Business Unit and Pete Bryant, director of safety.
