The Comanche County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting death of a man southeast of Lawton Sunday afternoon.
Timothy Duane White, 42, of Duncan, was the victim of what has been ruled by the state medical examiner as an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The shooting happened on a bridge west of Bethel Road on Baseline Road shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival at the scene, Comanche County Sheriff’s Department investigators were told the victim was pronounced dead by a paramedic with the Empire Volunteer Fire Department at approximately 2:45 p.m.
White’s funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery.
