Five felony cases appeared for their preliminary hearing conferences Tuesday in Stephens County District Court.
Of the five conferences, only one requested a preliminary hearing. Two requested continuances and two have been scheduled for arraignments.
The conferences included:
• Guadalupe Barcenas, 37, of Duncan appeared in court for charges of child stealing and lewd molestation for an incident involving a 13-year-old girl on Dec. 2.
Bond had been set for $100,000.
Barcenas requested a preliminary hearing, but the date has not yet been set for this court appearance.
• Thomas Eli Ashbrook, 19, of Duncan was charged with robbery with a weapon in relation to an incident at Chisholm Corner West convenience store on Dec. 8.
Ashbrook’s bond was set at $10,000.
His arraignment will be today in Stephens County District Court.
• Matthew Stevens, 17, of Duncan was also charged with robbery with a weapon for the same Dec. 8 incident, but his charge was under the Youthful Offender Act.
Bond was set at $5,000.
Stevens was granted a continuance on his case and will next appear in court on Jan. 2.
• Danny Jo Howard, 21, of Duncan was arrested Dec. 11 on charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony, driving under suspension, expired license plate and failure to appear.
According to the police affidavit, Duncan Police stopped Howard’s black Chevy pickup truck because his license plate was expired. The police found syringes, spoons and about 0.4 grams of cocaine, according to the affidavit.
Bond was set at $5,000.
Howard will appear in court Jan. 2 for a continuance.
• Marshall Wayne Key, 21, of Duncan appeared in court for a preliminary conference, He had been arrested Nov. 1 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to carry insurance verification.
According to the police affidavit, Key had been stopped for an inoperable brake light. When Marlow Police pulled him over, they found his license had been suspended, and they allegedly found a plastic bag of methamphetamine be-tween the driver’s seat and the center console.
His bond was set at $5,000.
Key waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will be arraigned Thursday in Stephens County District Court.
