VELMA — A Countyline woman was transported to OU Medical Center after a two-car accident at State Highway 7 and S & W Road, just after 4 p.m. Monday.
Corene Knutson, 75, was driving her 2006 Cadillac east on State Highway 7 when she struck the back of a 2006 Ford pickup driven by Johnny Watkins, 21 of Graham, according to a report filed by Oklahoma Highway Trooper Kevin Crawford.
Watkins was stopped and waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn left on to S & W Road, the report stated, when he was struck from behind.
Knutson was transported to Duncan Regional Hospital and then was transported by Helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she was listed in fair condition with trunk and leg injuries.
Watkins, and his passengers, Ricky Davis, 25, of Springer, and John Leasure, 39, of Velma were not injured.
Seatbelts were equipped and in use by all occupants. Airbags deployed in Knutson’s vehicle.
Crawford was assisted by OHP Trooper Tom Winton, the Velma Police Department and Velma EMS.
