DUNCAN —
A Marlow woman died after her vehicle departed the roadway early Sunday morning, causing the vehicle to crash into a drainage ditch.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Misty Dawn Eggers, 25, at approximately 2:55 a.m., was driving east bound on State Highway 7, .5 miles west of CR 294, when her Pontiac sedan hydroplaned and ran off the road to her left.
Eggers then struck a wide concrete drainage ditch and was pinned inside the vehicle for approximately two hours before being freed by the Velma Fire Department and Evans Wrecker Service.
She was transported from the scene by Calloway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home to their funeral home in Marlow.
The driver’s condition is unknown and pending investigation while the cause of the accident is listed in the report by OHP Trooper Joseph Lang as speed on rain or wet roadway.
Airbags were equipped and deployed while seatbelts were not in use.
Trooper Lang was assisted by the Stephens County Sheriffs Office and Velma EMS at the scene.
