MARLOW —
Marlow residents kept busy with buying and selling Friday and Saturday, as the annual Second Chance Trade Days rolled around.
The community-wide garage sale gave residents an opportunity to clean out their closets, garages, basements and attics. This was the 13th year for the Marlow Chamber of Commerce to host the event.
“It went real well,” Debbe Ridley, Chamber executive director, said. “We had crowds all over.”
The Second Chance Trade Days joins the Easter egg hunt, the Fourth of July celebration and the Christmas parade, as four of the largest Chamber events in Marlow. Like those other events, the community-wide garage sale is a long-standing tradition in the Marlow community.
On a positive note, Ridley said the weather cooperated this weekend. The event benefited from a lack of rain and cooler temperatures than the year before.
“It was a lot better than last year.”
The only issue the event ran into was damage caused by the previous weekend, when the community was struck with hail from a summer storm. Ridley said that didn’t even cause many problems for Marlow residents.
“I think just about everybody had it all cleaned up,” Ridley said.
