MARLOW —
A Marlow man sustained injuries following a traffic accident Thursday night.
The Marlow Police Department is investigating a traffic accident, which involved a car and a pedestrian. The department received the call around 7:18 p.m. The accident took place in the 700 block of S. Broadway.
“A lady was southbound,” Police Chief Jimmy Williams said. “A 54-year-old man, by the name of Estes Boyce, was wearing dark clothing and was walking in the street.”
Williams said the woman’s vehicle struck Boyce. Boyce was transported to Duncan Regional Hospital and then medi-flighted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Williams said the Marlow Police Department is conducting an investigation. He said there doesn’t appear to be any wrong doing on the part of the driver, and no charges have been filed at this time.

State budget cuts push educators into early retirement
