DUNCAN —  

Nathan and Carlita Walker renewed their wedding vows Aug. 24, 2012, at the New Post Chapel at Fort Sill after 41 years of marriage.

The couple was married June 3, 1971, in Canton, Ohio. Nathan served in the United States Army for much of their married life until he retired. The Walkers moved around frequently but have resided in Duncan for the past 19 years.

Their main shared interest is raising their grandson Tyson K. Walker to be the best man and person with God’s help in love. They have three grandchildren.

To celebrate their vow renewal, Nathan wrote Carlita the following letter: Carlita,

I have loved you since I first met you in Trinidad, Colorado. When I saw you in your wedding dress, you were so beautiful, I could not stop looking at you and knowing how blessed I felt that you were my wife, my bride standing there looking at me. After renewing our marriage vows Aug. 24, I now look forward to 41 more years of sharing my life with you.
