Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Colonists brings state assembly to Duncan today

DUNCAN — Two full days of activities and events begin today, when the Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Colonists hold their 86th State Assembly in Duncan.

OSDAC members from around the state will begin their experience in Duncan with a noon luncheon at the Antique Tea Room, followed by a tour of the W.T. Foreman Prairie House.

At 2 p.m., a tour will be given at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. The State Officers Club meets at 4 p.m., and the first day ends with a dinner to the theme of, “Treasures of the Trail” at 6 p.m. Many of the guests will be in prairie dress or Western attire.

On Saturday, a breakfast will be provided for all members staying at the Hampton Inn, followed by registration from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and an executive board meeting.

A buffet lunch is planned for 11:30 a.m. and at 1 p.m. there will be an address by guest speaker William Welge from the Oklahoma History Center.

At 2:30 p.m., the complete assembly will gather for an installation of officers for the 2012-14 period.
