DUNCAN —
I would like to express my thanks to my fellow citizens in Duncan. I was not born in Oklahoma, but I’ve lived in Duncan for more than 50 years. In my working life, I served as a fireman in the Duncan Fire Department. During those years, I helped the people of our town, and in recent years, I have learned what it is to receive help. I am a Parkinson’s Patient, and I fall quite often. People are always ready to come to my aid. There are many people in this town who are happy to stop and get out of their cars just to open the door for a person in need, like me. At check-outs, people often offer to carry my groceries out to my car. These are just a few examples of the many ways Duncan citizens help each other every day. May we continue to serve one another with such care as the years go by. Again, I am so thankful for the wonderful people of Duncan.
Sincerely,
Melvin Cooper (“Mr. C”)
Duncan
