Marlow with 13 players recognized

Wortham, Cramton, Mccauley lead outlaws

MARLOW — MARLOW — The season ended up a disappointment for the Marlow Outlaw football team this year, but with any dark cloud, there’s always a silver lining.

Over a dozen Marlow players were recognized as All-District or honorable mention players this season, with three of its athletes recognized as position players of the year.

Wide receiver Drew Wortham was named co-offensive player of the year, finishing the season with 34 catches for 513 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Wortham acted as a triple threat this year for the Outlaws, passing and rushing for several other scores.

Senior linebacker Colt McCauley was named defensive player of the year, acting as the primary run-stopper for Marlow as well as taking on tight end duties on offense.

Senior Lance Cramton was named linebacker of the year, also one who doubled as an offensive threat, lining up in head coach Barry Foster’s backfield as fullback.

“We appreciate how much they’ve (seniors) done for the program,” Foster said after the last game of this season against Lone Grove.

Adding to the post-season accolades were offensive line seniors Ryan Horn and Andrew Gilmore, along with defensive lineman Andrew Conway. Senior Chris Walden, who took the majority of carries on offense for the Outlaws, was named as an All-District linebacker.

Senior Trevor Archer was named as an honorable mention linebacker, as was fellow senior Kevin Davis. Senior Kaleb Willeford was also an honorable mention, playing the defensive line for the Outlaws.

Jed Riley and Scott Williams were honorable mentions on the offensive line, as was Mykel Moreno at wide receiver.
