  • Apple to be Leadership Duncan speaker

    Ed Apple, a former chairman of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and a ex-member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, will be the keynote speaker when members of Class XVI of Leadership Duncan, sponsored by the Duncan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, graduate May 1.
    Ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Duncan Golf and Tennis Club.

    That’s what the Duncan City Council decided during this week’s regular meeting, when council members tabled an agenda item until the Feb. 28 regular meeting, despite having already received bids for the project.

    This past week, Duncan hosted the Governors Economic Development Marketing Team’s (GEDMT) annual retreat and educational meetings. There were 50 Economic Development professionals from communities across Oklahoma and the business/industrial recruiters from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce in attendance for the two day meeting. This allowed Duncan to show off our community and the wonderful assets we have available.
