Duncan man killed in single vehicle accident

Lost control of van in Comanche County

DUNCAN — A 37-year-old Duncan man was killed in a single single car accident Sunday in Comanche County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Dean Bowles was driving north on 225th Street near the Stephens County line, when his 2007 Ford van ran off the right side of the road, reentered the roadway and veered to the left side into a ditch. The vehicle then flipped 3 1/2 times, coming to rest on its top.

Bowles was pinned inside the van for about 20 minutes, before being freed by Sterling Fire Department emergency personnel. Bowles, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive heard and trunk internal injuries.
