Raincrow sentenced to 30 years

DUNCAN — Cristyn Marie Raincrow avoided a felony jury trial Monday by entering a guilty plea to second degree rape by instrumentation and forcible sodomy involving a minor female student.

Raincrow received a 30 year sentence, with 12 1/2 years incarceration with Oklahoma Department of Corrections and another 17 1/2 suspended and supervised. Additionally, she will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Raincrow was arrested and charged in October 2010, after an investigation was initiated in March 2010, by Stephens County Sheriff's Office at the request of Empire Public School District. She was a band instructor employed with the district at the time of the allegations.
