Toni Hopper/The Duncan Banner Shannon Smith stands by “Stage IV” a 30-inch by 50-inch oil painting that won People’s Choice in the Waurika Fine Arts Festival, a juried show in October. The photo represents a cancer patients’ toughest fight of their life. Smith shot the photo in Ada, the bull, belongs to Rex Dunn, a former bullfighter, who has cancer, as does Smith’s father, Steve Goza.
