Mr. and Mrs. JL Byas of Duncan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 27 at Bob’s Restaurant, hosted by their sons and daughters-in-law.
JL Byas and Roberta Kitchens married Feb. 17, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They have lived in the Duncan area all of their married life.
Mr. Byas retired from Halliburton in 1986, as supervisor in the Photographic Department, following 35 years of service. Mrs. Byas retired from Halliburton in 1986 as a clerk/typist in Product Scheduling.
Following their retirement they traveled to California and Europe. Mr. Byas enjoys playing pool at the Senior Citizens’ Center and Mrs. Byas enjoys shopping and playing games on her computer. They are members of New Hope Baptist Church West.
Their children are Jack Byas and his wife, Peggy of Duncan and Steve Byas and his wife, Donna of Norman.
Mr. and Mrs. Byas have three grandchildren, Shelly Polk and her husband, Paul of Duncan, Jane Rannberg and her husband, Dustin of Duncan and Jason Byas of Norman. They have one great-grandson, Tyler Polk of Duncan.
They are looking forward to a new great-grandchild this summer.

Lifelong residents of Stephens County, Randall and Nancy Burton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner with their children and grandchildren Sept. 10 at Peyton’s Place.

Bob and Anita Bumgarner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 15, 2011, with a private trip with their family to Arlington, Texas. Earlier in the summer they enjoyed a cruise to the Bahamas and Key West with family and friends.
