Johnny and Pearl Morrow — 50 years


DUNCAN — Johnny and Pearl Morrow of Duncan celebrated 50 years of marriage Jan. 9, 2010.

Johnny and Pearl planned to marry in Rush Springs, but because they got their marriage license in Stephens County they had to get married in Stephens County. They were married in Fifth Street Baptist Church in Marlow.

Pearl was born in Granfield. She attended Hobart and Lone Wolf grade schools and graduated from Rush Springs in 1957.

Johnny was born in Lindsay. He attended Pea Ridge and Vimy Ridge grade schools and graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1953. He attended Central State College in Edmond. He entered the Army in 1958 and served with the 547th Combat Engineers.

The couple resided in Rush Springs for most of their marriage and also lived in Northwest Arkansas. Johnny retired from Simmons Processing Company of Siloam Springs, Ark., in 1996. Johnny spent most of his life in the pet food industry. His enjoys spending time with his family, music and sports.

Pearl retired from Don Bunker Construction of Siloam Springs in 1994. She enjoys oil painting, cooking, sewing and working with the Oklahoma Home and Community Education Club of Stephens County. The couple attends New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan. The couple’s children are: Cindy Morrow of Rush Springs; John and Jerri Morrow of Rush Springs and Anita and Keith Peddycoart of Duncan.

Their grandchildren are Cody Gee, Lindsey Gee and Ryan Peddycoart of Duncan and Dustan McClenny, Traci Roberts and Payton Roberts of Rush Springs.
