DUNCAN — Virgil and Nell Bryant celebrated 70 years of marriage Jan. 23, 2010. A reception was held by the couples children and grandchildren at East Side Church of Christ.
The couple married Jan. 14, 1940, at Church of Christ on 6th St. and Arlington in Lawton. Gray Carter officiated the ceremony.
The couple has lived in Meridian and Duncan during their years together.
Nell was a homemaker. VIrgil retired from Halliburton after 35 years. He also pastored several Churches of Christ in the area.
The couple enjoys church, watching sports and family gatherings.
The couples children are Jeanie and Bill Roland of Mineola, Texas; Patsy Beall of Ft. Worth, Texas; Jerry and Mary Bryant of Wheatridge, Colo. and Artie and Debra Bryant of Duncan. The couple has eight grandchildren that reside in Texas, Colorado and New York City. The couple has nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Lifelong residents of Stephens County, Randall and Nancy Burton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner with their children and grandchildren Sept. 10 at Peyton’s Place.

Bob and Anita Bumgarner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 15, 2011, with a private trip with their family to Arlington, Texas. Earlier in the summer they enjoyed a cruise to the Bahamas and Key West with family and friends.
