J. W. and Mary Head celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
J. W. and Mary were married July 28, 1961, in Aztec, N.M. They lived in New Mexico for the first nine years of marriage. They live in Velma and have lived there since September 1970.
They are the proud parents of two sons: David Head of Velma and Danny Head of Hinton. Their daughter-in-law is Loye Ann of Hinton. They have two granddaughters: Taylor Kathryn and Danielle Head.
J. W. was a heavy equipment operator and is retired. Mary is employed at Velma Federal Credit, where she has worked since July 1978.
The 50th anniversary reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m. July 30 at Countryside Free Will Baptist Church in the Family Life Center.

Bob and Anita Bumgarner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 15, 2011, with a private trip with their family to Arlington, Texas. Earlier in the summer they enjoyed a cruise to the Bahamas and Key West with family and friends.
