DUNCAN — Phil and Ilene Zimmerman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Stephens United Methodist Church.

The couple married July 2, 1961, in Meridian. Phil retired from Fort Sill as an electronic technician in 1992. Ilene worked for Universal Life Insurance and later became a full-time homemaker.

Phil and Ilene have two daughters: Rita Richardson and husband, Lynn, of Marlow, and Lori Shults and husband, Robbie, of Duncan. They have one granddaughter, Jessica Richardson, of Duncan.

The couple enjoys shopping for antiques, and spending time with family and friends. Ilene also enjoys making jewelry.

    Rev. Bill Choate and Jean Rogers of Meridian celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 1 by attending the First Baptist Church. The couple regularly attends Wednesday services and because their anniversary landed on that day, they didn’t break tradition.

    Anna Reese Bostain and William Russell Young were married Feb. 17, 1943, in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Ross officiated by W. Ralph Wharton, Church of Christ minister.
